Persecution: The Left Now Says Christians Have a “Mental Illness”

The hosts of ABC’s “The View” are carrying on their crusade against Christianity, demonstrating just how out of touch liberals can be when to comes to Christians and what it means to have a relationship with God.

Former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault appeared on the show Tuesday and disparaged President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.

After bad-mouthing Trump and White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the women raked Pence over the coals. The conversation moved to the vice president’s faith, and that is when things got particularly ugly.

Host Sunny Hostin, who called herself Catholic, called Pence’s belief in God “dangerous.”

When you have a Mike Pence that now puts this religious veneer on things and calls people ‘values voters,’ I think we’re in a dangerous situation,” she added. “Look, I’m Catholic. I’m a faithful person, but I don’t know that I want my vice president, um, speaking in tongues and having Jesus speak to him.

Naturally, co-host Joy Behar had to add her two cents — as abrasively as possible.

Like I said before, it’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you,” said Behar, an agnostic who was raised Catholic. “That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct. Hearing voices.

Besides being nearly incoherent (she probably meant to say “if I’m not mistaken” instead of “if I’m not correct”), Behar conveniently twisted the Christian belief of knowing God through prayer and what every Christian understands to be a listening heart into something akin to mental illness.

Think about that. Had she made the same remarks about Islam or called a Muslim official mentally ill for his faith, there certainly would have been an outcry, not the laughter and applause we saw Tuesday.

During an interview with Axios on Wednesday, Pence responded to the remarks, saying the entire discussion was an insult to Christians everywhere.

An overwhelming majority of Americans cherish their faith, and we have all different types of faith in this country,” Pence said. “But I have to tell you: To have ABC maintain a broadcast forum that compared Christianity to mental illness is just wrong.

And it’s an insult not to me, but to the vast majority of the American people who, like me, cherish their faith,” he added.

Take a look:

It’s hard to disagree with Pence about this. Every Christian should be offended by the conversation these women had, especially how they tried to turn listening to God into a sign of mental illness.

There is a war on Christianity, and it is heating up.
